Computational oncology, trained on the ward first.
I trained as a physician in Nigeria before I trained as a computational researcher, and the order matters. Most of what I work on now, in spatial genomics, structural bioinformatics, and multiomics, started as a clinical question I could not answer at the bedside. I am currently completing mandatory internship in Osogbo, and applying to PhD programmes in Europe for September 2027 entry.
The research, first.
My work asks why the same molecular intervention does not produce the same outcome in every patient, and builds the computational tools to find out. Current focus: synthetic-lethality drug prioritisation in triple-negative breast cancer, HLA structural immunogenomics, and contamination-aware AMR surveillance, alongside a synthetic biology project engineering a gut sentinel organism for paediatric diarrhoeal disease. This is the work I am carrying into doctoral study: computational oncology and spatial, single-cell multiomics, with a focus on the tumour immune microenvironment.
