This is where the entrepreneurial side of the work lives: ventures built out of research, and ideas still being tested for whether they deserve more time. Some of this grows directly out of Academic Research; some of it doesn't.
Ventures
A synthetic biology venture concept from the iGEM Biohackathon and Venture Creation Lab, built around programmable rod-to-coccoid bacterial morphology switching for industrial bioprocessing. Won the Judges' Choice Award and First Runner-Up Award at iGEM, and is headed to the iGEM Grand Jamboree this November.
Early-stage / incubating
Several ideas are still at the exploration stage and not public yet.
